10 Actors Who Should Replace Cavill As Superman

4. Oscar Isaac

Although the DC part Oscar Isaac was most recently optioned for was that of Batman (a part he would undoubtedly nail, it must be said), it’s Superman where the actor’s talents could best be put to use.

Not only does Isaac possess the grade-A hair any Man of Steel has to have, he’s already demonstrated an ability to play both sides of the character. Having already dominated scenes in Star Wars as Poe Dameron (a character equally famed for his rugged never say die attitude as he is his compassionate streak), the door is well and truly open for Isaac to take the next step and lead the Justice League as a Superman equally capable of smashing mythical Apokoliptian New Gods, as he would be lending a helping hand to a citizen in need.

Also important to note is that Warner Bros. are said to be reevaluating how to proceed with the DCEU/Worlds of DC franchise going forward. Cavill’s Superman, regardless of how divisive his portrayal ended up being, was never going to work for this new world. Isaac, on the other hand, can take the role in a new direction.

Mimic the relationship Poe has with BB-8 and have Krypto involved instead, and you have the perfect Superman film just waiting to be made.
