10 Actors Who Spent FOREVER Preparing For Tiny Movie Roles

4. Ray Park - Solo: A Star Wars Story

Hail Caesar Channing Tatum

The big, surprising cameo at the end of Solo: A Star Wars Story is Darth Maul, with original Maul performer Ray Park reprising the part for an appearance lasting barely a minute.

Despite the brevity of the cameo, the actor-stuntman clearly took the assignment extremely seriously, spending three to four hours per day for an unstated period training to once again become Maul.

It's an especially committed regime given not only how brief the role is, but the fact that Maul does nothing physical in the scene, spends most of it sat down, has his physique concealed underneath heavy clothing, and the visuals are somewhat obscured by Maul being holographically projected.

Even with Park's over-the-odds dedication to getting into shape for the part, that didn't stop some of the asinine usual suspects from noting that Maul wasn't quite as slender as he was in The Phantom Menace almost 20 years prior.

You can't fight time forever, but Park certainly did a great job getting fighting fit for the cameo.
