With a career that has spanned over almost 50 years, Jackie Chan deserves the crown as the greatest stuntman the world has ever seen.

Chan started off as a stuntman opposite Bruce Lee in the 1972 hit film Fist Of Fury and went on to make his name by starring in action packed movies which typically featured a generous helping of mind blowing stunts and genius martial arts choreography.

But with great talent comes a great hospital bill as Chan's extensive injury list will tell you: he has broken his nose three times, both of his cheek bones, all of his fingers, dislocated his ankles and he even has a plastic plug in his skull from an injury sustained in Armour Of God.

Whilst filming in 1986, Chan had to perform a stunt which involved leaping at a tree, swinging from a branch and landing safely below (you know, basic stuff). After taking a sip of beer, he nailed the stunt but wasn't satisfied.

"Hold my beer."

After another sip he tried it again but this time, he mistimed the jump and fell through the tree smacking his head on a rock causing a piece of bone to pierce through his skull.

I see my role at WhatCulture the same way my wife sees my role as a lover: I contribute in a very small way, my presence is barely noticeable and I’m not entirely sure if the laughter is at me or with me.
