10 Actors Who Tried Way Too Hard To Be Edgy
1. Quentin Tarantino - Everything He's Ever Been In
Quentin Tarantino should stop trying to pretend he's an actor. Right now. Despite his proven talents as a writer and director, he seems intent on appearing in his own works, and is absolutely toe-curlingly awful in every instance. From his tiresome seminar on Madonna in Reservoir Dogs to his baffling appearance in Sukiyaki Western Django, Tarantino chews the scenery and seems to be actively trying to alienate the audience.
Tarantino really enjoys playing rapists, as evidenced by his unwelcome presence as Richie Gecko in From Dusk Till Dawn and the gusto with which he played Rapist #1 in Planet Terror. His most excruciating role, however, is clearly that of Jimmie Dimmick in his 1994 game-changer Pulp Fiction.
Upon protagonists Jules and Vincent's meeting with him, the film screeches to halt so Tarantino can deliver his now infamous "dead n****r storage" tirade. With the tone of an indignant teenager, he sprays n-bombs at the top of his voice for what is only a couple of minutes but feels like an eternity. The role was originally intended for Steve Buscemi, who might have made the scene a little less embarrassing to sit through, what with him actually being a talented actor and all.
