Actors don't always consider quitting based on a lack of screentime, a bad set atmosphere or a dodgy plot point.

While Jaimie Alexander's character Sif has been absent in the Marvel universe since Thor: The Dark World due to shooting scheduling issues, Alexander was almost forced to quit the series even earlier.

During a fight scene for Thor: The Dark World, Alexander had a serious injury that included a dislocated shoulder, chipping her vertebrae and herniating a disc in her spine. Though she was ultimately able to complete her scenes later on, she had to undergo a month of physical therapy before she was able to return to set.

It was originally unclear if she would recover in time to be able to finish shooting. But luckily, Alexander was able to return in time and Sif appeared fully in Thor: The Dark World.
