Though he has gone on record to admit that he's not willing to put himself through hell in the gym just to bring a superhero to life, that doesn't necessarily mean Robert Pattinson isn't entirely up for the job of wholeheartedly delving into the difficult real-life scenarios his characters would find themselves in.

Look no further than his frightening dedication during the lead-up to his part in The Safdie Brothers' Good Time. In preparation for the role of New York thug Constantine "Connie" Nikas, the Twilight star bleached his hair to the point that "your hair is no longer hair. It's just strands of chemicals."

On top of this, Pattinson also befriended ex-convicts and conversed with correction officers in prison... all whilst in character. Taking things up a notch, the actor also kickstarted a few improvised skirmishes in a Dunkin' Donuts and car wash for good measure.

Speaking about his joy at not being exposed in situ, Pattinson explained:

"There wasn't a single cell phone picture of me the whole time. I was so concerned about that happening, because I loved (the idea) of the film world being blurred with reality and having people on the street react to you."
