Going on to become one of the most likeable and relatable characters ever to be captured on camera over a span of three heart-warming Bridget Jones entries, Renée Zellweger's performance as the titular hopeless romantic captured the hearts of millions in next to no time.

But there was much more when it came to Zellweger's turn than simply brushing off her British accent and downing a few bottles on vino in the build-up. The actor actually decided to legitimately take up a position at a British publishing house, much like her character held in this fictional feature world.

Going all in on the deception, Zellweger would work under the name of Bridget Cavendish whilst plying her trade in the publishers, with the rest of her colleagues informed that she was merely fulfilling her work experience with the team. In the three weeks under the company banner, the eventual Oscar-winner would send out many a book to reviewers, file newspaper reviews, and master the office coffee order.

The best part? Zellweger once had to file a particular news story that saw a reporter complaining about the American's casting as Jones. She swiftly responded by scribbling "rubbish" next to the filing.
