Heading back to school again now, here's that time a 23-year-old Kevin Bacon wasn't convinced he remembered what it meant to be an authentic 17-year-old youngster during his preparation for Footloose. So, sure enough, a high school field trip was set into motion.

Whereas Tom Holland decided to drop his guard slightly and largely laughed off the high school research experience as a whole, Bacon would admit that his venturing back in time actually proved to be massively beneficial to him, telling John Lithgow in a Variety Actors on Actors session:

“It was exactly like the movie because some kids gave me a hard time, made fun of me, made fun of my hair, made fun of my clothing. I was dressed and looked like the character. Some of the girls giggled and formed little groups and would whisper about me.”

Though Bacon was only on campus for a day, it's clear the genuine cruelty of kids really struck a nerve with him and his approach to the character, with the star going on to produce a career-making display in the hip-shaking hit.
