9. Mark Ruffalo As Hulk

Whilst he was not initially planned to be the MCU's Hulk, Mark Ruffalo quickly picked up where Edward Norton left the character, and made the Hulk truly incredible.

When Ruffalo was announced to be the new Incredible Hulk at the 2010 Comic Con, there was quite a lot of confusion and skepticism from fans as to his casting. Thankfully, the Zodiac actor proved all of the doubters wrong in his debut as the Green Goliath in 2012's The Avengers - and he is now hailed as one of the best characters in the MCU.

However, there have been quite a few issues with the Hulk, especially over the rights to the character. Although Marvel Studios owns the rights for the Jade Giant to appear in other films, Universal Pictures own the rights to produce a solo Hulk film. When asked by Yahoo in 2015 about the prospect of a Hulk solo film, Ruffalo explained, "Marvel and Universal famously don't get along very well, and so that's working against us, definitely. But I know for a fact that everyone is holding out hope that one day we can do it."

Even if Ruffalo is never giving a solo outing as this most beloved of figures, his inclusion in other projects, like Thor: Ragnarok, have done justice to the character, with the star being key in Hulk's success and popularity.
