There was never a film more aptly titled than Cursed, which was a famously difficult production for the late, great Wes Craven. He had to suffer producers demanding sweeping changes to the story while it was being shot, and it was ultimately taken out of his hands. The original storyline was completely different from the released film and followed three strangers in the aftermath of a werewolf attack. This version featured actors like Skeet Ulrich, Omar Epps, James Brolin and Mandy Moore, all of whom were cut. This must have been especially upsetting for Ulrich since he was originally one of the lead characters. The producers pulled the plug on this version, and during the break, it was rewritten so two of the strangers became brother and sister, and many of the subplots were dropped. A round of reshoots was again cut short when the studio demanded the ending be reworked, and the practical effects were replaced with ropey CGI. Finally, the movie was changed from an R rating to a PG-13, literally gutting the violence. The result was a tepid horror movie nobody especially Craven enjoyed, and one where indecisive producers ended up costing themselves millions shooting footage they didn't even use. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tV2m4QPBtU8 Have you heard of any other actors who were cut out of big movies for dumb reasons?
