10 Actors Who Were Wasted In Their Franchise Return
7. Billy Dee Williams - Star Wars: Rise Of Skywalker
Remember how excited we all were when it was finally announced that Billy Dee Williams would be reprising his legendary role of Land Calrissian in 2019's Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker?
Those were simpler times.
Following in the footsteps of Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill (we'll get to him), Williams was finally back on board the Star Wars ship and fans couldn't wait to see him pilot the Millennium Falcon once again.
Yet, despite Williams doing what he could with the material handed to him, Lando's only real memorable moment came in the final act when the General led a fleet of reinforcements into battle on Exogol.
Apart from that, his scenes were mostly packed with boring exposition and the odd on the nose callback to the past.
Williams hadn't made an appearance in a live action Star Wars film for 35 years. But, instead of having him throw out legendary one-liners and charming his way out of trouble, he was quickly lost in the shuffle and completely underused.
The smoothest man in the galaxy deserved so much more, so here's hoping he's thrown into a spin-off with Naomi Ackie's Jannah in the near future and we're given a version of the real Lando we know and love.
