10 Actors Who Were Wasted In Their Franchise Return
5. Anna Paquin - X-Men: Days Of Future Past
It may seem a bit unfair to take aim at Days of Future Past for wasting the return of a familiar actor twice in one list, but it's hard to leave Anna Paquin's chopped to pieces initial Rogue comeback out of this conversation.
After bowing out alongside the majority of the original X-Trilogy cast in The Last Stand (2006), Paquin went on to star as Sookie Stackhouse in the television hit that was True Blood.
Coming off the back of that success on the small screen, you'd have thought director Bryan Singer would have been more than happy to bring the star he directed in the first two X-Men films back for the time-travelling epic in 2014.
You thought correct, but unfortunately a large chunk of Paquin's scenes in the film were cut for the theatrical version most people saw in cinemas.
A fantastic breakout (also featuring the severely underused Sir Ian McKellen) and Rogue taking over from Kitty Pryde in order to keep Wolverine stable in the past were both scenes which were eventually dropped. This meant that the returning favourite was only given a little cameo appearance at the end of the flick...after eight long years away.
