The lucrative return to the world of Jurassic Park (or in this case Jurassic World) in 2015 proved that people were finally ready to forgive the series for the misstep that was Jurassic Park III.

So, as expected, a much anticipated sequel was thrown straight into the works. But, if fans were already excited for round two of this bold new Jurassic World, the announcement of Jeff Goldblum's Dr. Ian Malcolm returning to the mix was enough to all but guarantee another $1 billion success.

Fallen Kingdom managed to break into the billion dollar club just fine, but people were left feeling a little cheated when it came to light exactly how much Goldblum they would be getting in the end product.

Bookending the movie, Malcolm sets the stage for what is to come and leaves the door open for Jurassic World III. That's about it.

No interactions with prehistoric beasts. No witty exchanges between himself and Chris Pratt's Owen Grady. Not even a single 'um' or 'ah'.

Thankfully, Goldblum, Sam Neil and Laura Dern (another person we'll get to!) will all be returning in the upcoming Jurassic World: Dominion. Fingers crossed, that doesn't just mean the pair will be pulling up two chairs to join Goldblum in Jurassic Court.
