Despite its strange origins, the WWE-and-Film4-backed Fighting With My Family has the potential to be one of next year's biggest breakout hits. Written and directed by Stephen Merchant, the comedy-drama is based on a documentary chronicling the early years of professional wrestler Paige's career, with the movie lining up plenty of cameos from WWE superstars (including Dwayne Johnson), while drafting in other actors to portray iconic figures in the industry.

However, its Vince Vaughn's casting as Jake "The Snake" Roberts that could sink the whole project. Although the film is very much a comedy, it's not going to be a farce, and getting somebody like Vaughn to play one of the most menacing wrestlers in WWE history seemingly indicates that the tone is already a bit off.

Sure, Vaughn has proven he can do more than comedy with the likes of Brawl in Cell Block 99, but you have to wonder how much of his imposing presence in that film came from the fact that he was cutting heads off in prison toilets every five minutes.

The whole thing stinks of stunt casting, and while some will no doubt get a kick out of seeing him involved, it could end up being a huge misfire.
