10 Actors Who Won't Be Coming Back For Upcoming Sequels

Avengers: Infinity War saw the "definitive" deaths of a few key characters, most notably Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Heimdall (Idris Elba).

Though Thanos (Josh Brolin) practically winks at the camera as he says, "No resurrections this time", indicating the finality of Loki's death, it's possible the God of Mischief could still show up in Avengers 4 if those rumours about a time travel-heavy plot are to be believed.

As for Heimdall, though, his tenure in the franchise is very clearly over. Given his generally insignificant presence in the scope of the entire MCU, there's no need for him to return even in a fleeting time travel cameo. Loki's charm would make his reappearance a fun little moment, but the rather stoic and serious Heimdall? Nope.

What It Means For The Film:

It's the right call, honestly. After spending three Thor movies doing disappointingly little, he finally got to do something of worth at the start of Infinity War by sacrificing himself to send The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) to Earth.

It would feel pretty ham-fisted for him to come back in a movie that's already got literally dozens of characters to juggle. Plus, considering how most of the Infinity War deaths will be undone, wouldn't it be nice if this one actually stuck?
