10 Actors Whose Movies Eerily Foreshadowed Their Real Death

2. Brandon Lee

Following in the footsteps of Bruce Lee €“ the man who almost single-handedly brought martial arts cinema to the Western world and became one of the most significant pop culture icons of the twentieth century €“ was always going to be a big ask, but his son Brandon gamely accepted the challenge. Brandon Lee made an impact in the likes of Rapid Fire and Showdown in Little Tokyo, but it was his casting as Eric Draven in 1993 comic book adaptation The Crow that looked likely to establish him as a star in his own right. Though his powerful performance helped the movie to considerable box office returns and critical praise, its success was bittersweet. As many are aware, towards the end of filming a mishap involving a prop gun resulted in Lee incurring a fatal wound to his abdomen and dying aged just 28. This is automatically eerie in that the scene in question was to feature Draven€™s death, but the weirdness doesn€™t stop there. Anyone who has seen Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story will be aware that the Lees feared a family curse, and a metaphorical demon attacks Bruce throughout the film before finally turning its attention to his son. Dragon finished shooting several months before Brandon Lee€™s accident. Stranger still, at the time of his own death Bruce Lee was filming Game of Death, which would finally be released years later using original footage and substitute actors. Lee€™s character was an actor in the middle of shooting a movie and ends up getting shot in an on-set accident involving a prop gun.

I watch movies and I watch sport. I also watch movies about sport, and if there were a sport about movies I'd watch that too. The internet was the closest thing I could find.
