10 Actors Who Will Definitely Win An Oscar One Day
3. Michael Fassbender
Despite only making his feature debut seven years ago with a supporting role in 300, Michael Fassbender has already established himself as one of the most talented actors working today. Never anything less than watchable onscreen, the 37 year-old has already amassed an impressive filmography. Although 300 gained him recognition, it was Steve McQueen's Bobby Sands biopic Hunger the following year that marked Fassbender as a talent to watch. Since then, his career has only gone from strength to strength with great performances in movies as diverse as Fish Tank, Inglorious Basterds, Jayne Eyre, Shame, A Dangerous Method and 12 Years a Slave. Equally comfortable in powerful independent dramas and studio blockbusters (although the less said about Jonah Hex, the better), it is a testament to the actor's versatility that he is currently receiving strong notices for his performance in Frank despite spending the entire movie wearing a papier-mache head. After being inexplicably overlooked for a Best Actor nomination in 2011 for his stunning performance in Shame, Fassbender picked up his first Academy Award nomination for his powerful supporting turn in 12 Years a Slave. Given the body of work he has amassed so far and a willingness to take risks, one day in the future it is almost a given that he will be rewarded with an Academy Award.
I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
