5. Charles S. Dutton - Manslaughter & Posession Of A Deadly Weapon
Charles S. Dutton is known to most for his roles as Fortune in Rudy, and Dillon in Alien 3. However, in 1968, at the mere age of 17, Dutton got into a fight which ended with him killing a man who he would later claim had attacked him. Nevertheless, Dutton was convicted of manslaughter and spent 7 years in prison, yet just a few months after his release, he was arrested for possession of a deadly weapon, and sentenced to another three years in jail. Things took a more savoury turn from here, though; Dutton eventually took up reading, set up a prison drama group and got his GED. Dutton ended up getting a Tony nomination on Broadway, which helped him transition into a career as a reliable, recognisable character actor.
