6. Sophie Turner - Heavy
The Project
Details are being kept pretty well under wraps when it comes to Revenge thriller, Heavy but what we do know is that Sophie Turner will star as Maddie, one half of a nutty couple living the high life in New Yorks drug scene. Jouri Smit is set to helm the film, with little experience of note, Candyland (a film that deals with the misuse of drugs) in 2013 being his latest feature.
Why It's Make Or Break
To put it plainly, Dark Phoenix was terrible. Fans has been promised a definitive Dark Phoenix saga depiction (one of the greatest comic book arcs in printed history) on the big screen and all memories of X-Men: The Last Stand were set to be eradicated.
Turner can't be held personally responsible - the film must be defined as an ensemble piece even with her character hogging the title - but she more than does her bit in dragging down the quality of performances. She's just plain boring.
Given that we watched her grow from rookie to scene stealer as Sansa Stark on Game of Thrones that sort of performative mediocrity leaves the viewer feeling cheated and frustrated.
The signs for her next project are good as this film looks set to allow Turner the chance to expand her range into the unknown entity that is the underworld and if this involves some 'nutty' escapades, she may even get a laugh or two.
