10 Actors You Didn’t Realise Played Batman

2. Ron Perlman - Justice League Heroes

Michael C Hall
FX/Warner Bros Interactive

Even though Ron Perlman has had a diverse career, he's best-known for portraying the title role in Hellboy (the good one). However, Perlman is also well-versed with the DC universe, having provided the voice of many prominent characters over the years, including Sinestro, Deathstroke, and Orion. He's also familiar with Batman's rogue gallery, voicing Killer Croc, Clayface, and Bane in multiple animated series and video games.

Because of his connection with DC lore, intimidating demeanour, and naturally gruff voice, it seems like Perlman was handcrafted to play Gotham's protector. (He also doesn't need to find a Batman voice since he already sounds like Batman.)

In 2006, Perlman finally got the chance to voice the dark defender in the video game, Justice League Heroes. Despite the fact Perlman could play the role in his sleep, he makes the character his own, portraying Batman in a more encouraging and sympathetic manner. He also shows off his comedic talents by nailing Batman's deadpan putdowns when he eliminates his enemies.

Justice League Heroes was a pretty mediocre brawler but at least Perlman proved to be endlessly entertaining as always.
