6. Thandie Newton - Interview With The Vampire

Thandie Newton's fourth-ever movie role saw her appear in 1994's Interview with the Vampire as Vyette, the ill-fated slave girl who Louis de Pointe du Lac (Brad Pitt) is ultimately unable to resist devouring after being turned into a vampire himself by Lestat (Tom Cruise).

Newton appears in the film for just a few minutes and isn't immediately recognisable given her period wares and concealed hair, not to mention that the film was released six years before she made her big Hollywood breakthrough in Mission: Impossible II - coincidentally another film starring Tom Cruise.

It's certainly not an embarrassing early role for Newton by any means, though her presence proves plenty surprising on a contemporary re-watch regardless.
