10 Actors You Probably Forgot Were In Sci-Fi Movies

3. Hank Azaria - Godzilla (1998)

Hank Azaria has enjoyed a varied, if slightly sporadic film career. He popped up in Pretty Woman, Quiz Show and The Birdcage in an assortment of brief but memorable turns.

Azaria also enjoyed a memorable guest appearance on Friends as a love interest for Lisa Kudrow’s Phoebe Buffay. To most, however, he’ll always be known as one of the main voice actors on the world’s longest-running animated TV series, The Simpsons.

Azaria is the voice of everyone from Chief Wiggum to Comic Book Guy, and an incredibly talented star to boot. But he’s not an action star and he’s certainly not someone you would expect to see fronting one of the most expensive sci-fi blockbusters of all time.

But, somehow, Azaria ended up as one of the main stars in Roland Emmerich’s big, dumb Godzilla movie. Not that he’s the only actor horribly miscast – the fact Matthew Broderick headlines this film is bizarre to say the least.

Once the film gets going, Azaria does a commendable job as intrepid cameraman Nick ‘The Animal’ Palotti, but even hearing his voice without a yellow animated character in sight seems strange. How did this happen?
