10 Actors You Wrongly Think Are In Movies

7. David Bowie - Dune (1984)

A classic case of the much-discussed Mandela Effect - a false memory shared by many people - is the belief among some that David Bowie played the role of Feyd in David Lynch's 1984 adaptation of Dune. Check online and you'll find numerous posts from folks mistakenly crediting the part to Bowie.

In fact, Feyd was actually played by Sting, and it's incredibly easy to break down precisely why so many people associate the character with Bowie instead.

For starters, Sting is a charismatic, famous musician not unlike Bowie, with similar enough physical characteristics to boot.

Plus, just two years later Bowie appeared in his own fantasy film, Labyrinth, where he similarly sported an eccentric, fire-tinged hairdo.

On top of this, both Lynch's Dune and Labyrinth are cult movies that bombed at the box office, and so it's not terribly surprising that the memory of one has become somewhat cross-pollinated with the other.
