Hot off her show-stealing performance in David Fincher's masterpiece Gone Girl, Rosamund Pike is someone Marvel should play close attention to. Prior to her role as Amy Dunne in the film based on Gillian Flynn's bestseller, Pike had failed to breakthrough to the mainstream, with her stint alongside Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher her most high-profile performance. But with Gone Girl setting box offices on fire and Oscar buzz surrounding her portrayal of Ben Affleck's demented spouse, Pike now has the Hollywood "it factor". She's been criticized as being somewhat wooden in past films, so it would be interesting to see if she has the charisma necessary to pull of such a role. But if Marvel is looking to make a big splash with their casting, Rosamund Pike would be a timely selection.
