10 Actresses You Didn't Know Were Pregnant During Filming

9. Gal Gadot - Wonder Woman

Pregnancy was actually directly responsible for Gal Gadot being cast as Wonder Woman in the first place, because the actress previously had to turn down a smaller villain part in Man of Steel due to being pregnant, which presumably would've prevented her from winning the Diana Prince role later.

And though Gadot shot the main bulk of her Wonder Woman solo movie without incident, she got pregnant around a month after principal photography wrapped. As such, when Warner Bros. called her back for reshoots later in the year, she was quite impractically five months pregnant.

Thankfully the reshoots were fairly routine and consisted simply of tweaking scenes that hadn't quite worked the first time, such as the build-up to the final battle with Ares (David Thewlis).

But in order to disguise Gadot's sizable tummy, the production placed a green cloth over her stomach, allowing it to be digitally "fixed" in post-production.

In Gadot's own words, "On close-up I looked very much like Wonder Woman. On wide shots I looked very funny, like Wonder Woman pregnant with Kermit the Frog."

Mercifully the fates were on director Patty Jenkins' side here, as there's pretty much no way of noticing Gadot's pregnancy in the final cut of the movie.
