10 Aging Actors Who Could Totally Pull Off An Action Comeback

10. Mickey Rourke

Age: 62 After The Wrestler, it seemed Mickey Rourke was ready to patch things up with Hollywood and ride a second wave of success back to glory. It didn't quite turn out that way, though - Rourke's been a supporting player for the last few years in movies you've never heard of (Java Heat, Dead In Tombstone and the inaccurately spelt Skin Traffik). It's hardly appropriate for an actor who almost won an Oscar in 2009, and who was - in the 1980s - a major star for a reason. The reason being that Rourke can really act; putting the guy in an action movie, like they recently did with fellow '80s golden boy Sean Penn, would make for an interesting watch. Rourke's still nailing the physical roles, as evidenced by last year's Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, plus he's been training for years to play rugby player Gareth Thomas in a film that frankly looks like it'll never get made. No point in wasting that newly re-energised frame - Hollywood might as well build an action film around it and let the Rourke charisma take care of the rest.
