10 All-New All-Different Marvel Ideas The MCU Should Use

Civil War left Bucky in kind of a difficult position. His cybernetic arm was destroyed, he's still hunted by the world's governments for the murders he committed as a brainwashed Hydra assassin, and he's got a whole lot of bad stuff he wants to atone for.

While some might think this would be the perfect setup for Bucky to become the next Captain America, I've got a much better idea; give him his own team composed of other former villains who also want a second chance.

In the late 90s, the Thunderbolts was a team of villains masquerading as heroes after the Avengers apparently died. But over time, they found they liked being heroes and wanted to continue to redeem themselves, even after they were exposed as villains.

Following Marvel's Avengers: Standoff crossover, Bucky has decided to take over the leadership of the Thunderbolts and they're tasked with protecting Kobik, a sentient Cosmic Cube which has taken the appearance of a little girl.

Whether or not Kobik is used doesn't matter. But a Thunderbolts franchise would give Bucky a great role in the MCU going forward, and would also introduce some incredible new characters to the films.
