2. Hallelujah - Watchmen
I'm not sure as to whether or not Zack Snyder's adaptation of the phenomenal graphic novel Watchmen is the best movie that could have been made from such complicated source material, or a waste of time and effort. I admire Snyder's attempts to keep as close to the original comic as possible, but such an approach also made for a rather clinical and stiff-feeling flick. Still, I barely think about any of that these days: my mind always goes back to something else. That's right: it's the Hallelujah scene. Don't pretend you don't know what I'm talking about. The moment where, having thwarted some bad guys for the first time in a long while, superheroes Nite Owl and Silk Spectre suddenly get a little bit turned on, which is when Snyder deploys what has to be one of the most uncomfortable sex scenes in motion picture history. Backed with Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah," the moment reeks of parody, and yet it's totally serious. Or, at least, I guess it is. There were too many people laughing in the theatre to know for sure.
