2. Bride Of Chucky
This fourth Child’s Play departs from its predecessors with a more tongue in cheek tone, delivering a barbed (and very funny) commentary upon relationships.
When her soul is transferred into a doll by Chucky (Brad Dourif), Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly) tries to stand by her man but realizes that’s going to be difficult when he doesn’t appreciate her slaving away over a hot stove making cookies while he sits back and doesn’t even offer to help with the washing up. She can live with the fact that all he likes to do is plant booby traps, steal stuff and kill people, but questioning her housekeeping? Going too far.
So she does what any self-respecting doll would and lets rip with a torrent of abuse, hurling plates at Chucky and informing him that he isn’t even a real man because “plastic is no substitute for a nice hunk of wood.” Back and forth it goes, though Chucky gets in a great retort: “Any guy would need a hunk of plastic, probably battery operated, to get a reaction out of you in bed.”
