To quote LL Cool J 'Don't call it a comeback' but Jude Law is back with a larger than life portrayal of a foul mouthed, drug taking, heavy drinking criminal in Dom Hemingway, written and directed by Richard Shepard and released in April. The film follows the eponymous Dom who, after bring released from prison after serving twelve years, goes to the South of France to collect his reward for keeping his mouth shut from his gangster boss and reconnect with his long lost daughter. He also consumes large quantities of illegal substances along the way. The film was shown during the Toronto film festival in 2013 and has already been released in the UK. Law has been praised for his bravura performance as the drink and drug fueled egotist with a short fuse and has great support from Richard E Grant as his one-handed best friend Dickie. Game Of Thrones actress Emila Clarke also stars in this very black, very profane, very funny comedy from the writer and director of the Pierce Brosnan-image inverting black comedy The Matador. Also released in April is another film about a man who drinks, swears and takes drugs; Captain America: Winter Soldier. Okay so he drinks water, says 'darn' and takes vitamins but if you fancy some escapist fun during the wet month of April look no further than Marvels ninth addition to its cinematic universe. In this sequel Steve Rogers, while struggling to adapt to modern life, finds himself investigating an enemy from within S.H.I.E.L.D. (played by Robert Redford) while also encountering a new and powerful adversary The Winter Soldier.
