Original Science Fiction stories in Hollywood are as rare as horny pandas with virtually all sci-fi being based on existing material but being released in March is Under The Skin, directed by Sexy Beast helmer Jonathan Glazer and starring Scarlett Johansson. The story follows Johannson's alien life form who is sent to Earth and seduces unwary hitchhikers...and them eats them. But don't go expecting some B-movie horror film, with Birth and the aforementioned Sexy Beast to his name, Glazer has produced something far more contemplative and (probably) very weird. Released in May is the Tom Cruise sci-fi actioner Edge Of Tomorrow which is not an original story (it's based on a Japanese story called All You Need Is Kill) but should offer plenty of bang for your buck as Cruise's Bill Cage dies fighting an unstoppable alien enemy only to come back and relive the same day over and over again. Think Aliens meets Groundhog day.
