10 Amazing Actresses Hollywood Don't Know What To Do With

8. Jennifer Ehle

It's always the bridesmaid, never the bride for Jennifer Ehle, who has been solid in everything from Contagion (where she was more believable than Kate Winslet) to Zero Dark Thirty (where she was more affecting than Jessica Chastain), but has seemingly never had enough exposure or necessary screen-time to get truly recognised in Hollywood. People seem to forget that the same actress was the (BAFTA-winning) star of the hugely popular Pride and Prejudice miniseries back in the mid-90s, presumably because Ehle disappears into her much smaller Hollywood roles so ably. And also because she gets such scant chance to prove herself, despite landing such hefty roles as The Adjustment Bureau's 'Brooklyn Ice House Bartender'. It leads you to thinking: if Ehle can do so much with so little, what would she be able to do with a proper chance at starring? Ehle has the potential to be another Julianne Moore - the older actress trustily adding a touch of class to any role she gets. Only Tinseltown has yet to catch up.
