10 Amazing Animated Film Soundtracks From The Last 10 Years

8. Sing

Spider Man Into The Spider Verse
Universal Pictures

Another jukebox musical in which the film is a collection of covers, with the conceit of the story being that of a talent show with different people from all walks of life trying to show their singing prowess, Sing is a feel-good romp whose soundtrack of covers is worth jamming to.

The film itself doesn't do anything particularly groundbreaking, but it executes its simple premise well, letting the energy of its many songs and its fantastic cast carry it to the heights it reached.

The renditions of these songs by these talented celebrities, from Reese Witherspoon to Taron Egerton, are a treat to listen to, with special mention going to the classic voice of Seth McFarlane as conman mouse Mike crooning Frank Sinatra's "My Way" and the emotional high of Tori Kelly's rendition of Stevie Wonder's "Don't You Worry 'bout A Thing" as shy young elephant, Meena.

Not to say it doesn't have original pieces either, such as Scarlett Johansson's porcupine Ash singing "Set It All Free", written by Dave Bassett, and the fantastic lead single, "Faith", by Stevie Wonder and featuring Ariana Grande. Though transparently made for chart-topping, this film delivers on its promise of good music, nonetheless.
