10 Amazing Details You Missed In MCU Movies

6. The Other Korg - Thor: The Dark World

Taika Waititi's Korg was one of the best parts of Thor: Ragnarok - maybe even its best.

His dry humour, deadpan delivery and wonderful character design instantly made him one of the MCU's most interesting side characters, and it would be a massive shame if we didn't see more of him in future.

And while you might have assumed that Ragnarok was the first time we'd ever seen Korg onscreen, this assumption would be false. He's actually popped up in the MCU before - albeit in a radically different interpretation of the character.

In the Vanaheim battle scene in Thor: The Dark World, Thor comes face-to-face with a giant rock-like monster, who's destroyed by the god of thunder after a single blow from Mjolnir.

And the DVD commentary for the movie revealed that this was actually Korg. But because he was never explicitly referred to by that name in the film, Waititi was able to retcon this appearance out of existence and deliver his own version of the character in Ragnarok. Thankfully.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
