10 Amazing Horror Movies You'll Never Watch Again

7. Mother!

Anyone who voluntarily puts themself through the ordeal that is ‘mother!’ more than once clearly has some kind of masochistic ideation. There’s a reason that it’s known for being an overwhelming, confusing and ultimately insane film - not the sort of film that you can stick on for a relaxed rewatch whilst you flick through Twitter.

Jennifer Lawrence gives an incredible performance as the central ‘mother’ character, supported by the talented Javier Bardem. Their dynamic is perfect and her frustration and outrage at the things he puts her through is believable. Amongst all the chaos, the two of them pull us through and keep up engaged the whole time.

It’s a film that requires your absolute attention in order to notice every beat, every moment that one thing shifts into another and the story unfurls itself. This, needless to say, can be quite tiring. Not everyone can muster up the energy to sit through two hours of bombardment at any given time. Once you’ve seen it once and you know how much effort it's going to take to really watch, nobody can blame you for finding it hard to motivate yourself to do it again.
