10 Amazing Movie Plot Twists That Never Get Talked About

6. The Batman - He Genuinely Doesn't Know

Confined within a dark and dismal Gotham overflowing with crime and corruption, Matt Reeves' The Batman does a superb job of building suspense and tension for the majority of its whopping two-hour and 56-minute runtime.

However, this is turned all the way up to 11 when Robert Pattinson's rageful and relatively-inexperienced Caped Crusader uncovers the possibility that Paul Dano's sadistic, serial killer re-invention of The Riddler may have discovered his true identity.

Batman's true identity being questioned, teased or even revealed to his famous foes is nothing new when it comes to the cinematic history and subsequent mystery that conceals the man behind the cape and cowl. Still, the premise and prospect of said unveiling has the feel of a truly pivotal and powerful moment within the 2022 film, considering Bruce is only two years into his vigilante tenure.

In a tense conversation between the two confined within Arkham, the incarcerated Riddler's slowed speech and suggestive namedropping has Batman fearing the jig is up through some truly incredible acting from Pattinson. Similar to Michael Fassbender's performance as Walter and David in Alien: Covenant, Pattinson exhibits just enough emotion under the cowl to show the viewer his fear while remaining the right amount of coy in front of his foe. For now, that is.
