10 AMAZING Trailers That Sold Bad Movies

7. Glass

Sucker Punch Trailer
Universal

Set up as the long awaited sequel to Shyamalan's Unbreakable (2000) combining it with the world of Split (2018). Focusing on Sarah Paulson's face for the first section of the trailer allowing for a brilliant reveal of Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Willis and James McAvoy trapped in a psychiatric hospital.

Similarly to Batman vs Superman there is a suggestion that Willis' David will be pitted against McAvoy's Beast. In this mundane reality the question of how real our protagonists superpowers are is posed. Imaginary or just undiscovered? With Jackson's Mr. Glass puppeteering the Beast this looked like it was going to be another Shyamalan hit.

The problem came from the fact that the film itself didn't really move beyond what we had seen in the trailer, twists came without much shock and the whole thing felt a little bit lackluster. It is not the sequel Unbreakable deserved or needed, and not the sequel the trailer promised.
