10 Most Annoying Girlfriends In Comic Book Movies

6. Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World

In Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, Ramona Flowers is supposed to represent the girl of Scott's ultimate dreams - so much so, in fact, that he sets out to battle all seven of her evil exes in order to be with her. Fine. On paper, this conceit works... and it should have done in the movie, too. And though this might not be the most popular of opinions, given that Ramona is played by the very charming and very lovely Mary Elizabeth Winstead in the film and most people saw her as great "dream girl" material, the casting just doesn't work. Her take feels "flat." That's to say, Ramona doesn't come across in a way that makes us root for Scott - Winstead fails to hit the right balance between independent and cool/brash and sarcastic. It doesn't help that Mary Elizabeth Winstead has zero chemistry with Michael Cera - there is so little spark between them that the entire premise of the movie near enough dies a death as it's playing out. The way Ramona treats Scott for a large portion of the movie doesn't make us say, "wow, she's so cool" like it's supposed to; we're just thinking, "man, she's annoying" instead.
