10 Annoying Tropes Marvel Needs To Abandon To Save Phase 3

1. After-Credits Scenes

It almost feels like sacrilege to suggest that Marvel scrap their famed and beloved after-credits scenes, but using them more sparingly at the very least would be no bad thing. As the Marvel Cinematic continues to become more and more complicated to follow for non-fans, so too do these stingers. Of course, some will argue that that is their problem, and the fact that Marvel caters to their devoted fanbase with reveals like Thanos and "The Twins" is what makes them so great. That's true in some respects, but that sort of fan devotion is why Watchmen flopped. A bigger problem perhaps is that fans now expect some sort of huge reveal, and when they don't get that (Iron Man 3 is a good example of that, as is the lack of the Spider-Man nod that many expected at the end of Age Uf Ultron), it doesn't take long for complaints about these stingers to overshadow the actual movie! As time goes on, Marvel will continue to struggle to manage fan expectations, so quitting while the going is good isn't really a bad idea. If not, Marvel runs the risk of alienating not only the people who don't know the difference between Thanos and the Red Hulk, but also those expecting something truly mind-blowing.
