10 Avengers: Age Of Ultron Surprises That Could Happen

8. A Different Shade Of Hulk

This one is just pure speculation, but what if we got a different shade of the Hulk? It seems that the Avengers will be turned against each other. We also saw Banner looking somewhat despondent in the film. Some emotional or psychological instability in Banner could lead to a completely different kind of transformation, one in which he doesn€™t change into the familiar, monosyllabic savage green Hulk. Stan Lee initially wanted the Hulk to be gray, but comic book coloring was not as sophisticated then as it is now, and colorist Stan Goldberg had difficulty maintaining the correct shade of gray, so Lee opted for green instead. Years later, writer Peter David would bring back the gray Hulk, although this time establishing it as a separate personality. Not as strong as the green counterpart, the gray Hulk nonetheless made up for it with higher intelligence, moral ambiguity, and cunning street smarts. We haven€™t yet seen the gray Hulk in any of the live-action adaptations, and it might give Mark Ruffalo a chance to play a different side of the character. Given the extreme stress Banner is likely to be put under in this film€”including a confrontation with his friend, Tony Stark€”the stage could be set for the emergence of the gray Hulk, as well as giving audiences something they haven€™t yet seen.
