10 Awesome 2014 Horror Movies To Watch This Halloween
8. The ABCs Of Death 2
The Pitch: A sequel to 2012's decent if somewhat underwhelming horror anthology featuring 26 shorts (with one for each letter of the alphabet), the format is back untouched for a second go-around. Why It's Awesome: With a host of up-and-coming horror directors and renowned masters of the genre, ABCs 2 succeeds in pretty much every way the original film failed. The hit-miss ratio is surprisingly strong for a film with so many compartments to it, and in the entire 2-plus-hour anthology, there are only a handful of shorts that are both bad and boring. In short, ABCs 2 never sticks around long enough in one place to get tiresome: shorts typically range from about 2-6 minutes, and as such, even when there's a dud, you don't have to wait long for another outrageous winner to come along. A rare anthology that sustains exceedingly well over 2 hours, and one that will surely benefit from booze-filled midnight screenings, hopefully ABCs 3 will be on the cards in the future and cement its superiority to the flagging V/H/S franchise.
