An alien parasite appears on Earth, with the ability to possess human bodies in order to carry out its devious plans. Sound familiar? 1988's The Hidden might sound like a rip-off of John Carpenter's The Thing, but it manages to take a similar premise and run with it in a totally different way. The Hidden is an action flick with a great, witty script. The body-switching alien has been let loose on the city of Los Angeles, leaving a human cop and an alien cop tasked with capturing it. It's very tongue-in-cheek, with a ridiculously high body count, with the constant action and twisting plot making it very watchable.
