10 Awesome Actors Who Totally Lost Their Momentum

7. Joseph Gordon-Levitt

Anne Hathaway

There were a few years in the early to mid-2010s where Joseph Gordon-Levitt just seemed to be everywhere. Inception, The Dark Knight Rises, and Looper were all phenomenal successes in under two years between 2010 and 2012. He had success in well-received dramatic and indie films, such as (500) Days of Summer, 50/50, and Lincoln between 2009 and 2012.

But then a lot of his time and focus went into directing, writing, and starring in the divisive 2013 film Don Jon, and its lacklustre response was followed by more duds. Sin City: A Dame to Kill For was a huge flop. His dramatic ventures in Snowden and The Walk, while giving good performances in both, failed to stir anything particularly good in both critics and audiences.

Snowden is his last proper movie credit way back in 2016. For such a prominent actor at the start of the decade, he has well and truly lost his momentum in recent years.

Chances are I’m watching a movie or replaying Mass Effect rather than doing anything productive.
