10 Awesome Actors Who Totally Lost Their Momentum

2. Christoph Waltz

It's absolutely astounding that an actor of Christoph Waltz's calibre didn't experience the career momentum he seemed destined to have.

Considering double Academy Award wins for two of the most memorable performances of the past ten years in successive Quentin Tarantino movies Inglorious Basterds and Django Unchained, his post Django roles have left a lot to be desired.

Apart from his role as the Bond villain Blofeld in Spectre back in 2015, he hasn't been given a whole lot to work with since then. With roles in the disappointing The Legend of Tarzan, Tulip Fever, and Downsizing padding out most of his recent resume, the days of Oscar frontrunner performances seem long gone.

He had a leading role in the moderately successful Alita: Battle Angel this year and will have a role in Wes Anderson's upcoming film The French Dispatch, but with Alita's box office unlikely to warrant a sequel and taking a single glance at the stacked cast list for Anderson's movie, it's unlikely that this will be a second breakout for Waltz.

Chances are I’m watching a movie or replaying Mass Effect rather than doing anything productive.
