10 Awesome Cyborgs in Movie History

4. Marcus Wright - Terminator Salvation (2009)

The Terminator universe is a natural setting for cyborgs, yet it took them several movies to finally get down to a real cyborg; not one that is merely a robot surrounded by living tissue. In 2003, a doctor at Cyberdyne Systems convinces death row inmate Marcus Wright to give his body to medicine after his execution. A year later, Skynet is activated and destroys most of humanity. In 2018, John Connor (played this time by Christian Bale) is leading an attack on a Skynet base. The base is nuked, John survives, and out of the wreckage crawls Marcus Wright. Marcus works his way to the ruins of Los Angeles, where he meets up with Kyle Reese, who informs Marcus about the war between man and machine. About an hour later - in real time, that is - Marcus has hooked up with Blair Williams (played by Moon Bloodgood) who soon discovers Marcus is a cyborg. Naturally the humans in Blair's company suspect Marcus is working for the machines, but it all works out in the end. Despite the critics and the folks at Rotten Tomatoes, I enjoyed this movie. It wasn't perfect, but I liked how it moved forward in time to give us some of the back story before the original Terminator took place. Stuff like that is fun for me.
