2. Deadly Friend - Beheaded By A...Basketball?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lSW2pPlZF-M Here's a movie death that is at the same time utterly absurd and also completely awesome, taking place during an early Wes Craven effort, Deadly Friend, starring a young Kristy Swanson as a young woman who is lusted over by her nerdy neighbour. When her abusive father kills her, the nerd decides to use one of his robot chips to bring her "back to life", but the chip malfunctions and she returns as a homicidal maniac with an absolutely staggering level of strength, as evidenced by this ludicrous, physically impossible murder scene. The film's resident old hag (played superbly by Anne Ramsey) starts shouting at Swanson's character, so she grabs the nearest object, a basketball, and hurls it at her face, causing it to explode into meaty, bloody chunks. The effects are ridiculous though also quite enjoyable to watch, far more imaginatively composed than the CGI equivalents we'd probably get now, and the fact that Ramsey's corpse wanders around for a while post-mortem is also a nice touch.
