5. Erik Selvig Is The Main Hero Of The Marvel Cinematic Universe

There is a rising theory that the true hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is none other than the scientist Erik Selvig - and when you think about it, it actually makes a lot of sense! Since first being key in releasing Thor from S.H.I.E.L.D. custody in the first Thor movie, Selvig has been a key heroic figure in the two most threatening scenarios that Marvel Cinematic Universe Earth has faced to date. Despite having been mind-controlled by Loki, Selvig subconsciously placed a fail-safe in the energy shield protecting the generator to the portal through which the Chitauri came to Earth - this allowed the Avengers to close it, which indirectly made Selvig the hero of the Avengers movie. He was then pivotal in Thor: The Dark World - using his equipment to send Malekith to Svartalfheim where Thor saw him perish underneath his own ship. Selvig is set to appear in Age of Ultron (where he is also set to get naked again) and could be pivotal in defeating the villainous robot.
