9. Doc Brown Was Suicidal

During the very first time travel scene in the parking lot in Back To The Future, a fan theory states that Doc Brown was suicidal at the time and intended to die (perhaps due to his lack of success as an inventor). He openly states that, not only is it his first attempt at time travelling, but his inventions in general never work, yet he remotely drives his DeLorean towards himself at 88 miles per hour. If this is true, it makes it all the more heart-warming that he found love with Clara in the end, but a little disturbing that he dragged Marty back into the DeLorean's path in that opening time travel scene, as that would have made it a murder as well. Maybe not so heart-warming after all, but it still gives Doc's character a very interesting twist.
