Fox have been very coy about the possibility of a crossover between the X-Men movies and the Fantastic Four movies, with Simon Kinberg (a man who has produced and written the screenplays for a number of X-Men offerings) specifically saying that the two superhero teams will exist in their own "discrete universes". Regardless of that fact - and in some cases because of that fact - some fans have theorised that the two teams will indeed meet on screen. With characters like Doctor Doom capable of breaking the barriers between dimensions and the fact that the Ultimate Fantastic Four (on which the new movie is based) get their powers from an alternate dimension, fans believe this to be a sign that barriers between the two teams' "discrete universes" will be broken and the two teams will indeed meet. The recently released teaser trailer for the new Fantastic Four movie certainly indicated a tone far more reminiscent of the X-Men movies' tone than the last attempt (which was basically one big ball of super-powered cheese).
