7. Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade - Avoid Anyone Wearing A Flower

At many points during the Indiana Jones series, our titular beloved hero (Harrison Ford) has been double crossed and betrayed by rather despicable human beings, and many of those characters have even tried to kill the whip-wielding archeologist.

Yet, looking back on The Last Crusade (1989) in particular, it appears Indy could have saved himself from a lot of stress and pain had he stuck to one simple rule; avoid anyone wearing a flower.

Early on, a young Jones is forced to surrender an artefact to a man known as Panama Hat (Paul Maxwell). This gentlemen, sporting a red flower on his blazer, would later attempt to have Jones killed by ordering his men to throw him into the ocean without a buoyancy aid.

Along with Panama Hat, American businessman Walter Donavan (Julian Glover) is introduced wearing a flower, Dr. Elsa Schneider (Alison Doody) is gifted a flower to wear by Jones himself, and Brotherhood of the Cruciform Sword member Kazim (Kevork Malikyan) is spotted with a flower on his person when chasing Indy and Elsa in Venice.

Even though Kazim eventually helped Jones in the end, each of these flower-equipped characters all tried to kill or at the very least betrayed Jones at various points in the movie after their introduction.

Hindsight is 20/20, though, so we forgive Indy for missing the dangerous petals hiding in plain sight.
